The Ligero grade of leaf is the highest on the tobacco plant and known for its strength and complexity. On a small number of plants, two additional tobacco leaves grow above ligero. These are called medio tiempo. At the height of the tobacco plant, they get the full benefit of the sun to produce an intense complexity and strength. La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo uses this rare leaf in the center of each cigar, resulting in a unique blend that is loaded with flavor and complexity in a medium bodied smoke.
